Cookbook Digest–Italian Traditions

My Italian-American family is a little bit skeptical about eating at Italian restaurants, because…wait for it…it won’t taste like home. (There are a few exceptions, one of them being Sardinia, in Miami Beach where everything always seems to be perfect.)

But the skepticism doesn’t extend to Italian cookbooks, where you can always find a new and delicious way to sauce a pasta. You never know when some village secret might be revealed.

So what about Italian cookbooks from restaurants? Well, Patsy’s is a New York classic, and with nonnas in the kitchen at Enoteca Maria, it’s bound to be good.
